Painting the house in winter: can I paint on rainy days?
If the painting is in the internal area, there are no major problems in carrying out the
procedure.
There is only one, however, if the temperature is much colder, around 10°, it is recommended
to avoid applying the paints.
So is there an ideal temperature for painting the house in winter?
The indication is to avoid painting both on days when the relative humidity of the air exceeds
85%, and on occasions when temperatures are below 10o or above 40o.
Drying time: how will I know the paint is ok?
Water-based ink dries to the touch in 30 minutes;
Full drying, including coats, takes about 20 days;
On the rainiest days, there is no average time, but it takes longer than on days without rain
conditions.
A tip is always to promote in the environment, the ideal ventilation to paint the house in
winter. Use fans and leave the place airy, opening doors and windows. This will definitely
speed up drying.
