To address the issue of refrigeration manufacturers of electric machines have developed various cooling systems in order to comply with the degree of protection while at the same time maximizing thermal exchange. We can cite fundamentally five refrigeration systems more applied to the electric machines.
– The open system Gates AX28 Tri-Power Belts , where the heat is withdrawn from the interior of the machine by an external air flow that is forced through the machine;
– In the system by water mantle the heat is withdrawn from the machine by a blade of water that circulates around the housing in which the heat arrives by conduction of the interior of the machine;
– The finned system is the thermal exchange made by axial fins, where the heat reaches these fins by conduction and is removed from the surface by forced convection;
– In the system with air-to-air exchanger, the thermal exchange is made between an internal forced-air circuit and an external one through the walls of the tubes that make up the exchanger;
– In the system with air-water exchanger, the thermal exchange is made between the internally forced air circuit and the external water circuit.
